Bumble bees

bumble bees
mini tourabillions, use 1/4'' 6mm x 50mm tubes cut them in half for 2 tubes.
rocket mix of:
KNO3 60
Charcoal 30
Sulfur  10
milled 2 hours.
ram/press clay plug then press rocket propellant in incriments untill 4mm is left from the top. press clay plug and drill(by hand) 4 mm or so depending on the depth of your starting plug 2mm exit hole, into the tube ,insert fuse and add a cardboard 'wing' in the centre of the tube X ways and angle the exaust port so it will spin but also rise, so about a 40 degree angle or so. for heaps better effect like i use, add 5% Ti granules or Fe fillings. i also include a potassium flash powder report , if doing so,add a little flash then  add tissue paper(for protection) and a thin plug of hot melt glue. will take some practise to a get a report rather then a huge raise in lift but make the hot melt plug thinner.

BaNO3 6   SrNO3  6
parlon 1.5 parlon 1.5
Mg/Al  3    Mg/Al  3  -325 mesh, replacing parlon with pvc ensures cleaner burning fuel, with better colour
I hav used these with sucess, another word of advice is the angle in with you attach the 'wing' should be vertical enough to achieve height but horizontal enough to ensure stability
__________ Wing
      (  )        Body
/            Fuse,  45 degrees from the wing is good
