I have now tried cutting down on bench saw not a job for the faint hearted but you can buy ( if my memory serves well 36mm & 48mm at art stores for holding down water paintings reasonable price even with 8 mm gone from the 2 saw cuts to get 1/2" tape

Sounds like your making some 3" shells.
The reason I say this is that I use 1/2" gummed tape for my shells.

What I do is use the pretty common 25mm/1" tape and split it down the middle with a very sharp blade. I've now worked out a quick way to run the tape off the roll, through the blade, and back on to the roll using a power drill. If your creative its a rather simple bit of tinkering. This gives the nice sharp edges free of damage that you can get by cutting the whole roll. Not to mention you get twice as much tape!

One plus of doing it this way is that 1" tape works pretty well for 6" shells. So effectively the one size roll can make many different calibers!

Cheers guys. I was hoping that some one had a contact (I'm slightly lazy sometimes) but cutting the 1" to 3" gummed tape seems the way to go, as shipping from the US is a killer.
I use the 1/2" for my 2" & 3" shells mainly.
Have a good Xmas to all & for those doing it... A bright, colourful & noisy new years.
Cheers

To bring peace of mind, I searched and searched for quite a few nights to find a local or bulk supplier of smaller diameters of gummed tape. There's absolutely nothing I could find and Papetech in the USA are the only guys who I came across who did sell it. Nothing :(.

At least it makes us all more resourceful and more independent from having to order overseas.

I know pyrocreations sell them, but paying the same if not more in postage is a bit harsh. But I'm looking into making a basic cutting system to get my local 3" supplies into 1/2" strips.
